Pink Interior Design In 2020
The use of pink in interior design has proven year after year to be a trend that just never seems to go out of fashion, and 2020 is looking no different. More and more people are opting for the use of pale and dusky pinks in their homes since the millennial pink trend first became popular back in 2017. Pink interior design, when done well can really create a fun and vibrant space within your home.
More recently we’re seeing more and more commercial interiors using pink as their main colour theme throughout stores and restaurants. There are many ways in which you can introduce pink into your home décor yourself to create some of the magic seen from these “instagramable” pink locations seen all over Instagram and Pinterest.
4 Ways To Add Pink Into Your Home
- Go Bold With Pink Walls
If you are feeling bold and want to go for something a little different with your interior design this year you should consider painting your walls pink. This is a timeless classic that can make a space feel brighter, more inviting and really on trend. Now when it comes to the shade of pink unless you’re a fan of maximalist interiors we would suggest looking at a dusky pink or pale shade rather than anything neon. By opting for a lighter colour on the walls you can then bring dark tones of pink into the space through your choice of accessories and furniture.

- Pink Trim & Mouldings
If you are wanting to add a pink colour scheme into your home but are after something a little more subtle than bright walls you could consider painting your skirting boards and mouldings in a shade of pink. By adding a two tone effect to your home this will provide great contrast against the painted wall providing a focal point that is a little different from the traditional white skirting boards we so often see. This is a great way to slowly start adding pink into your home without committing to a fully painted wall.
- Pink Velvet
If you are after a space that is super chic and stylish then the addition of pink velvet furniture is the way to go. Plush velvet textures are extremely on trend within the world of interiors and they can help make your home feel that little more luxurious and contemporary. There are so many great furniture stores online where you can get pink velvet chairs, stools and sofa’s from. Although this might be a more expensive option, we think it is worth the investment. Especially if you are a fan of the luxe pink interiors you see all over Instagram and Pinterest.

- Furnish With Pink Accessories
Now if you don’t want to go all out but want some subtle hints of pink in your home then pink accessories are the way to go! Blush pinks are a real trend within interior design so you will find many home stores selling accessories for all over your home. Some well thought out accessories can really make your space pop without being too overbearing and bold.
